IMLM activities now on ACT Government’s official Agenda

Here is a great news, ACT Legislative Assembly passed a motion on International Mother Language Day observation and other mother language issues which will be very supportive to the International Mother Language Movement’s (IMLM) such activities in Canberra.

The motion was proposed by the Opposition Leader Hon Alistair Coe, MLA and was accepted by the members. Our Language Walk was well acknowledged by the members of both sides in the Assembly.

IMLM also highly acknowledged that our Annual Mother Language Walk been joined by ACT Minister and Shadow Ministers

Thanks to Mr Coe and Mr Ignatius Rozario, former Liberal Candidate for Ginninderra who has been talking to us (IMLM) about our activities and visions to take forward.

Previously we have been given official support by ex the ACT Multicultural Minister Joy Burch to build the Mother Language Monument in Canberra and today’s motion also agreed to ‘exploring options to support the construction of a monument in Canberra dedicated to the mother languages of Australians’.
