{"id":1112,"date":"2014-02-19T19:50:14","date_gmt":"2014-02-19T08:50:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dev.imlm21.org.au\/?page_id=1112"},"modified":"2023-02-17T00:14:14","modified_gmt":"2023-02-16T13:14:14","slug":"imlm-events","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/imlm21.org.au\/?page_id=1112","title":{"rendered":"IMLM Events"},"content":{"rendered":"<h1><b>Mother Language Walk 2023<\/b><\/h1>\n<p>Canberrans are invited to join in a Language Walk to mark the UNESCO-designated International Mother Language Day.<\/p>\n<p>Please join us on Sunday morning February 26<sup>th\u00a0<\/sup>to celebrate Australia&#8217;s diversity of languages and cultures!<\/p>\n<p>Come along in your community\u2019s national costume or come as you are.\u00a0 Just make sure you don\u2019t miss it!<\/p>\n<p>There will be free T-shirts and linguistically designed masks for everyone while they last.<\/p>\n<p><strong>PROGRAM<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The day\u00a0starts\u00a0near the International Flags Display (behind Questacon car park) on Lake Burley Griffin\u00a0just before\u00a010.00am.<\/li>\n<li>There will then be a community\u00a0Language Walk at 10.30am across the Kings Ave bridge and around the lake to near the National Police Memorial in Kings Park.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Celebrate Canberra\u2019s many languages and cultures at the end of the walk.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><em>Parking\u00a0is available at the program start near Questacon.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>We will maintain the COVID compliance; hand sanitisers and masks will be provided. Come along in your community\u2019s national costume or come as you are. \u00a0Just make sure you don\u2019t miss it!<\/p>\n<p><b>PROGRAM<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The day<b> starts<\/b> near the International Flags Display (behind Questacon car park) on Lake Burley Griffin <b>just before<\/b> <b><b>10.30am<\/b><\/b><\/li>\n<li>There will then be a community <b>Language Walk at 11am<\/b> across the bridge and around the lake to Stage 88 in Commonwealth Park (near Regatta Point).<\/li>\n<li>With a warm up band performing from 11am, the main <b>Cultural Performance Program<\/b> will formally commence on Stage 88 <b>from 11.50am<\/b> and conclude around <b>1.30pm<\/b>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\">Parking<\/b><span style=\"line-height: 1.5em;\"> is available at the program start near Questacon. Near Stage 88 you can park off Barrine Drive either near Regatta Place or on the West side of the Bridge (usual Floriade parking places). There will be lots of free fun kids\u2019 activities, multilingual activities (writing names in different languages and cultural performances).
